To be a UK Limited Liability Company the company is required to have entry in the Companies Register.

The company will be allocated a Company Number, or sometimes called a Companies House Number and even strangely abbreviated as a CRN or CRO.

So to check if the company is registered, first obtain the Company number.  The number is typically an 8 digit numeric number, or sometimes two letters followed by a six digit number.  The number will appear on any invoices, business letters or the company website.

You can then find the details of the company by entering the company number on the search page of our website, www.companiesintheuk.co.uk

Check that the details match the company that you are expecting.  And the Company Status is shown as Active.
